Traveling With A Saint

We arrived home to Málaga yesterday (Tuesday) morning. I feel great at the moment. Well, not at this specific moment. OK, now I feel great again. But only at the moment. Jet lag and two months of non-stop activity and travel.

I have four gazillion photos to sort through and then share. But, don't worry, I plan to hone that down to under three gazillion. Today I'll simply share what it looks like to travel with San Geraldo.

It's a good thing I don't care about what anyone thinks (within reason).

On the other hand, San Geraldo is clearly without reason.

AMAZINGLY, NOT SAN GERALDO UNDER THAT BLANKET.
FLYING FROM NEW YORK TO MINNEAPOLIS.
COMING IN FROM THE SCREEN PORCH AT NEPHEW AND
NIECE-IN-LAW'S, RYAN AND EMILY'S, SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA.

GREAT-NIECES AND GREAT-NEPHEW (ELOISE, ALICE, AND BENNETT).
THEY WARMED THEIR BACKS AT THE FIREPLACE AND THEN WARMED SAN GERALDO.
(THAT'S AN 'ELOISE' STICKER ON HIS FOREHEAD.)
AT A SUPPER CLUB IN SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA (MORE ON THAT LATER).
I HAVE NO RECOLLECTION OF WHAT WAS GOING ON HERE. (TOWEL AND FAN BOTH?)
BALLARD, WASHINGTON (IN SEATTLE).
TOO COLD. NO HAT.
BALLARD (AGAIN).
TOO SUNNY. NO SUNGLASSES.
NEW YORK TO MÁLAGA.
OK, EVERYONE WAS COLD.
PHASE 2. IT GOT A LITTLE BETTER LATER IN THE FLIGHT.
FED UP WITH ME AND MY CAMERA: "UH, JERRY, MAYBE YOU
WANT TO TRY AGAIN... WITH THE CORRECT NUMBER OF FINGERS."
"THAT'S MY BOY!"

And he's such a good sport. We're glad, too. Another week or so of jet lag and we'll be back to our abnormal selves.

  2. There is nothing like being swathed in a blanket when travelling and am glad that you are both back in sunny Spain - again.

I don't tend to like being swathed but even I had a blanket (on my lap). Sunny and 'cyclonic' Spain! The winds started blowing last night; furniture and plants were flying across the terrace. (This year, we're going to encase it in glass curtains!)

We've been and slept so many places these last 7 weeks that I at times have to remind myself where I am. But it sure does feel good.

  4. As always love these posts. Maybe that person on the flight was practising being a mummy for Halloween? You deserved the finger that time. How many pictures did you take of him during the flight? My hubby always get the open mouth sleeping shot - pisses me off every time :)

Oh, I must have snapped at least 20 pics of San Geraldo alone. I'm very grateful he has no interest in grabbing shots of me. I think he's a much better sport than I would be.

It was truly freezing for the first part of the flat. So glad it got better. San Geraldo was NOT pleased.

  8. Glad to hear all is going well with the two of you and your back. I am so far behind on blogging and reading it isn't funny. Between social scene, work and vacationing its been nuts.

  9. I'm glad you are home. I love the shot of Jerry with the warm-kid-blanket. Maybe he was using the fan to flirt?

Those kids were brilliant. I can't remember which one had the idea, but they sure enjoyed themselves. We had to stop them, though. We were afraid their shirts would catch fire (or melt)!

  10. Welcome home! Hasn't S.G. got one of those Arctic parkas he can wear permanently outside and in? I've got two - though must admit I don't have to bundle myself up when indoors like he does.

Btw: You got through this posting without a single word about D & M! That's the news I'm in suspense about! :-)

SG didn't think he'd need the parka on this trip. As for Dudo and Musy... They are we are in heaven. They had so much love and attention while we were gone though that there was no trauma or feelings of abandonment. We are very lucky to have the neighbors we have.
