What's Mine Is Mine And What's Yours Is Mine

I tried in the past to explain the concept to San Geraldo: "What's mine is mine and what's yours is mine." He seemed to think it worked both ways. And that defeats the whole purpose.

Moose apparently agrees with San Geraldo. Everything is to be shared... even if Dudo tends to discover "everything" first. Dudo, however, isn't quite as malleable as I am. One thing Dudo and Moose do agree on: What's mine or San Geraldo's is theirs. No exceptions. (Click images for bigger brats.)

SAN GERALDO'S DUDO'S KNEELING PAD.
SAN GERALDO'S MOOSE'S TOILETRY BASKET.
WHAT'S THE BASKET DOING ON THE FLOOR, YOU ASK?
SAN GERALDO BEGAN TO REORGANIZE... 3 DAYS AGO.  HE'LL GET TO IT.
"OH, WOULD YOU PUT AWAY THE CAMERA ALREADY!"
DUDO DISCOVERED A PERFECT NESTING SPOT IN THE DEN.
n
CLOCKWISE FROM TOP LEFT: MOOSE THINKS IT'S A GREAT IDEA,
BUT WHEN DUDO SPOTS HIM, HE TRIES TO GET HIM TO MOVE.
MOOSE STANDS HIS GROUND (HE DOESN'T USUALLY)
AND DUDO COMES WHINING TO ME.

Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine...

  1. As always, Moose and Dudo and their creative Dad had me smiling rather gushingly throughout the experience of reading this post and gazing at their cuteness.

Later in the evening, Dudo took over the basket. But he didn't last long. I don't think he liked it. He just did it because he could. (And, thanks as always. Your visits really do brighten my days.)

  2. I do miss having pets, they never cease to entertain. Who takes care of your furry kids when you guys travel?

We are so lucky here. Our neighbor Maria Carmen and her adult daughters come up three times a day while we're gone. They love the cats and the cats love them. It makes it so easy to travel.

  3. Dudo/Mitch.....Moose/San Geraldo. Funny how 'the kids' take after their parents, eh?

There are definite similarities. (Like San Geraldo, Moose seems to have quite the catastrophic imagination, too... no pun intended.)

  4. You certainly get a lot of mileage out of your two permanent house guests. And we all benefit from their cuteness.

Thanks for putting up with these posts. Obviously, the boys give me lots of joy. But, they're not permanent house guests. This is their house and we're their staff.

  5. Mitchell, the cats are intelligent. But Dudo is my favourite. So I think we can exchange I will give my dog and you will give me Dudo. It will be a new order. Do you agree?

No deal! I'm sure I would love your dog, but I wouldn't give up either cat. (Dudo is asleep in my lap right now.)

  6. If MaxGoldberg takes a spot on the bed and Tuxedo happens upon, AND I happen to be in the room, too, I can generally say something along the lines of 'Get him, Tucky.' And Tuxedo will pounce on Max to take his spot.
Yes, it's a bit cruel, but you never know when you might need an Attack Cat.

You're wicked. San Geraldo is always trying to get Dudo and Moose to make peace.

  7. Blackso, the only one who sits on my lap, used to make it clear after a while that HE wanted the entire chair for himself, getting off my lap and standing on the side of the seat waiting for me to get up. He hasn't done that recently but when he does, well, what can one do? Certainly not refuse his demand! That would be unacceptably cruel. (I bet even S.G. would agree.)

Dudo has in the past crawled behind San Geraldo, so he couldn't comfortably sit back, but he seems to prefer the lap now. He gets on my lap and if he's in the mood to be petted and snuggled (my nose to his head) and I'm not cooperating, he turns around and basically barks at me. I immediately do as I'm told.

I'll video the next times he's on my lap and will hope to catch it. It's pretty funny.

  10. This time I am on the side of the cats; cats fit into boxes; it 's in the job description.

Cats fit into just about everything. If the head fits, the cat fits!
